Aquatics

Aquatics

The YMCA’s aquatics programs offer comprehensive swimming and water safety instruction for all ages and skill levels. From beginner swim lessons for children and adults to advanced training for competitive swimmers, the Y emphasizes building confidence and proficiency in the water. Additionally, they provide lifeguard certification courses and water fitness classes, such as aqua aerobics, to promote health and wellness. With a focus on safety and enjoyment, the YMCA’s aquatics programs create a supportive environment where participants can develop lifelong skills and a love for swimming.

YMCA Rec Swim Team

The YMCA Rec Swim Team is a new program designed to bridge the gap between learning to swim and learning to swim competitively. Kids from ages 5 to 10 years old are invited to join us Saturday February 28th to meet coaches Moodie and Mark, receive info packets and team caps, and attend evaluations. Participants must demonstrate that they can do one lap of the pool unassisted. Practices will be held Wednesday (March 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th) evenings from 6p – 7p, with two tentative scrimmage-style meets planned for two Saturdays in March.

Middle School Swim

The YMCA Middle School Team will be competing against other elementary schools in the area, so there is some travel to meets.

Splash & Burn

Splash & Burn is a deep-water free-weight/aerobic fitness program incorporating water confidence, breath control and mental conditioning to deliver a unique, full body functional fitness alternative not available in any other area facility. Exercises would include underwater swims couples with dryland exercises, creative confidence building drills and utilization of various free weights while in the deep end of the pool.
