The Y Welcomes New Aquatics Director

Tim (call me “Moodie”) Moodie is our new Aquatics Director. Originally from New England, Moodie grew up by the ocean and has loved water-focused pastimes and endeavors from a very young age. He swam competitively for his High School swim team, a local Yacht Club swim team and even his local YMCA. In 2007 Moodie joined the military at the age of 39 and trained as an Army Diver.  He was, and probably still is, the oldest man to do that in the history of the Army. Most recently he coached for both the North Harrison High School and Hammerheads swim teams. He is trained as a CPR/First Aid/AED Instructor and plans to become a Lifeguard Certification Instructor as well. Moodie’s experience around water recreation and his aptitude for safety have made him a great fit as Aquatics Director here at the Y.
